Magumeri Attack: Zulum Addresses Residents, Orders Hospital Rebuilding

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum on Tuesday traveled to Magumeri, the headquarters of Magumeri local government area over Boko Haram attack.

The Governor addressed residents and assessed the destruction caused by Boko Haram on the recently rehabilitated General Hospital, Magumeri.

Zulum in a message to the residents during his address, charged them to report any suspicious person or movement to the security agencies to enable them to rid the town of criminal elements.

“It very important citizens support the Nigerian Military with intelligence reports to be able to track down the insurgents and their sympathizers. Local intelligence is very important, apart from strengthening the CJTF, as a government we will encourage our people to provide necessary information to the military and other security forces.” Zulum said.

Zulum also directed the ministry of reconstruction, rehabilitation, and resettlement to liaise with the ministry of health and immediately rehabilitate the hospital and restore all the destroyed facilities.

“We shall not be deterred in our efforts of reconstruction, rehabilitation, and resettlement, Commissioner of RRR you have to ensure immediate re-renovation of this hospital. Insha Allah, this administration shall not be deterred in building back all the infrastructures that were destroyed.” Zulum said.

He added, “Affordable and quality health care delivery especially to the poor and vulnerable is one of the cardinal objectives of this administration. As soon as the ministry of RRR completed the renovation, we shall put back all the facilities that were destroyed. We will ensure that adequate personnel was also recruited into this hospital.”

Zulum also assured Magumeri residents of adequate security that will protect lives and properties.

“Government has been relating with the Nigerian military, the Nigerian Police to establish a very strong military workforce in Magumeri,” Zulum said.
