The Kogi State Muslim Organizations, KOSMOS, under the auspices of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), on Thursday, 20th August 2020, has conferred on Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Mohammad Jamiu with the award of recognition for his “immense contribution to the growth of Islam and service to humanity.”
Receiving the award, Chief Asuku who was represented by his Special Assistant, Hon. Abubakar Y. Mujahid, thanked the organization for identifying with the Chief of Staff, whom he described as a dedicated Muslim and committed man. Mujahid said Pharm. Asuku with the support of Governor Yahaya Bello has contributed immensely to the growth of Islam in the state, and that any award given to him by the faith is not misplaced.
“I am honored and privileged to be a part of Pharmacist Asuku’s philanthropic journey for the last few years. During this time, with the support of Gov. Yahaya Bello, have helped thousands of underprivileged people around to learn how to be self-sufficient, offered scholarships, foot medical bills, shared foodstuffs so their families, and sponsors many of their children to school” the Special Assistant said.
He assured the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) that the Chief of Staff is privileged and honored to receive the award and will continue to support them, urging them to be committed to their objectives and to live worthy, peaceful, and exemplary lives as Muslims.
The Chief of Staff, in his statement, dedicated the award to the leader of the New Direction team, his boss, leader, and mentor; Governor Yahaya Bello, whom he said gave him the opportunity to touch the lives of others.
“My deepest appreciation goes to Jama’atu Nasril Islam for nominating me and I shall forever remain grateful for the recognition that I have received. Allow me to state categorically that although this is a personal award, it is and will always remain as a result of dedicated teamwork, and the opportunity given to me by my hardworking boss, friend, and mentor, Governor Yahaya Bello. So, I dedicate this award to him and to all humans across the globe facing the challenges and going through trying times as a result of the pandemic” he said.
Pharm. Asuku also assured the citizens of Kogi State that the administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello is committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people while urging the people to support the vision of the Governor and remain law-abiding and coexist peacefully.
The President Kogi State Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Ambassador Usman Bello said they honored the Chief of Staff who has been a pillar of support to the Muslim Ummah and humanity in general.
The Kogi JNI Leader noted that the “conferment of the award on Pharm. Abdulkareem Mohd Jamiu for his immense contribution to the growth of Islam and service to humanity was based on merit because of his outreach and special benevolence to Muslims, and other beneficiaries of his magnanimity.”
The award was presented to Pharm. Asuku Jamiu by the Grand Khadi, who was represented by Justice Bala Usman.
