BVAS, Electoral Law 2022 exposed Adeleke —Facebook user

By our reporter
A Facebook user, identified as Anouda Umar Isah, has explained why Osun State Governor,Ademola Adeleke, lost today at the State Elections Petition Tribunal, which sacked him.

The tribunal had also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the Certificate of Return it gave Adeleke and hand the same to All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in the 16 July,2022 election,Gboyega Oyetola, who the tribunal declared as duly elected.

Adeleke is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Facebook user,in a post titled ‘Below are the real reasons why Ademola Adeleke and PDP lost’, explained that it was the Electoral Law 2023,which was assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari, that torpedoed Adeleke from the top seat.

Deploying three bullet points,Isah wrote:”The BVAS machine exposed Adeleke; all those votes not transmitted through the BVAS were cancelled.

“All those votes higher than total number of accreditations in polling units were cancelled.

“Thanks to the new Electoral Act signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.”

The user, who identified himself as a resident of Abuja, cautioned political parties to,rather than cut corners as next month’s elections draw nearer, “canvas vigorously” for votes.

He also counseled voters to “guard your votes as well, especially against this party that was caught by the tribunal today in Osun.”
