Tinubu’s Sympathetic Visit To Maiduguri, Expresses Condolences For Kaduna Bombing Victims At Shehu’s Palace

President Tinubu, during his visit to Borno State on Monday, offered heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the recent bombing incident in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State. He emphasized that many of the victims tragically lost their lives while reciting the Shadada during the observance of Maulud, a central aspect of faith for practicing Muslims.

Expressing sympathy, Tinubu said, “They were Nigerians of profound faith, and in the moment of the tragedy, they were reciting the Shadada. God Almighty comforts their families as their nation grieves their passage into glory. May their souls rest in eternal peace.”

At the Shehu of Borno’s palace, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, President Tinubu assured that the Federal Government would continue to exert efforts to support and care for the families affected by insecurity in parts of Borno State. He emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing security concerns and mentioned ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being of the armed forces and their families.

“This is my most sacred responsibility, and the trajectory of the larger effort shown by the ratio of victory over defeat has been sliding well in our favor since the new administration has resumed office. We are not satisfied yet. We are not satisfied until we reach the end of insecurity in Nigeria,” stated President Tinubu.

He further pledged that security issues would remain a top priority, extending beyond the battlefield concerns. Tinubu affirmed, “We will provide better amenities and benefits to our gallant armed forces and their families. We are committed to this, and this is factored into the 2024 budget. We will ensure that our administration reflects the grateful heart of the Nigerian people in the way we treat those who make the ultimate sacrifices on our behalf.”

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, acknowledged the improving collaboration between security agencies and the state government. He expressed commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda in the fight against insecurity and thanked President Tinubu for his leadership.

The Shehu of Borno urged the President to direct infrastructural interventions to areas severely impacted by insurgency over the years. He specifically called for the revival of the Lake Chad Commission to aid communities in the Lake Chad’s surrounding areas, as well as power projects and initiatives for job creation among the youth. Tinubu was requested to support Governor Zulum, acknowledging the governor’s efforts amid limited resources.
