Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has inaugurated the state’s Presidential Campaign Council and Governorship Campaign Council for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
While launching the two councils, Matawalle urged members to use all available resources to help the APC win at all levels.
According to a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the APC in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris Gusau, Matawalle expressed satisfaction with the composition of the two campaign councils.
He urged the Presidential Campaign Council to inform all Zamfara State residents that Tinubu, who has continued to build bridges in the Nigerian political space, has a great mission of leading Nigeria to greater heights of development.
Matawalle assured the people of the state that voting for the APC standard bearer and other candidates would lead to greater prosperity.
When strategizing campaigns to achieve the desired goals, he believes that there should be broader consultations with all stakeholders, including community leaders, religious leaders, traders, and other interest groups.
The governor who is the North West Zonal Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, noted that Zamfara has never been as politically united as it is now.
He expressed confidence that the members have the capacity and all that is required to ensure the APC’s victory at the polls in the 2023 general elections, urging them to ensure that all electioneering activities are conducted in accordance with the law, particularly the Electoral Act 2022, as the party was founded on respect for the rule of law.
Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, speaking on behalf of the campaign councils, stated that the party has achieved full unity, with all stakeholders agreeing to remain as one unbreakable, indivisible family, and that success is visible at all levels.
He stated that if Nigerians give the APC another chance in 2023, there will be unprecedented development and the issue of insecurity will be resolved.
Marafa praised the selection of former governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar as the Coordinator of the Matawalle Governorship Campaign Council, expressing confidence in Yari’s ability to deliver on all fronts.
The event drew key APC stakeholders from Zamfara State’s 14 local government areas to the Government House in Gusau.
