The Senator representing Kogi Central, Senator Yakubu Oseni has urged members of the public and other critical stakeholders to complement the avowed resolve of the Federal Government to fight the scourge of corruption and Cybercrime in the country.

Senator Oseni made the call yesterday in Abuja on the sideline of the 3rd Annual Criminal Law Review Conference organized by the Rule of Law Development Foundation.

Speaking on the topic ‘Judicial Updates and Legislative Developments-Cybercrimes, Management of Confiscated Proceeds of Crime,’ Senator Oseni who is the chairman, Senate Committee on ICT/Cybercrime commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration for its holistic approach and firm stance against corrupt practices in the country.

While calling for expedited judicial processes on cases bordering on cyber criminality, the lawmaker argued that such would serve as strict deterrence to whoever wants to engage in an unwholesome act on cyberspace.

“It is on this note that I want to commend the management of the Rule of Law Development Foundation for its tireless efforts in ensuring that our nascent democracy becomes an envy of other countries of the world,” he said.

The lawmaker expressed optimism that with the current palpable independence of the three arms of government, the country would definitely stamp out all forms of cyber and financial criminality that have bedeviled the nation for years.
