The FEC meeting is being attended physically by the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, and the National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Major-General Babagana Monguno, and seven ministers.
They are Rotimi Amaechi (Transportation), Mamman Saleh (Power), Alhaji Lai Mohammed (Information and Culture), and Hajiya Zainab Ahmed, (Finance, Budget, and National Planning).
Other are Malam Mohammed Bello (Federal Capital Territory), Senator Hadi Sirika (Aviation); and Abubakar Malami (Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice).
The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, as well as other members of the Council joined the meeting virtually.
Before the start of the session, a minute silence was observed in honor of two former ministers; one-time Minister of Science and Technology, Senator Bode Olowoporoku, and Alhaji Umaru Muhammad Baba.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, who formally announced their death, spoke on various services they rendered to the country.
Olowoporoku, who served as Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District at the Senate, was Minister of Science and Technology in the Second Republic.
He died on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the age of 76 years.
Also, the late Alhaji Muhammad Baba, was, at different times, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Minister of State for Defence.
He died on Friday, March 26, 2021, at the age of 81 years.
