Opinion: Check Out Tinubu’s Likely Formation Ahead Of APC League Congress By Omo-Ikirodah

The political events leading to the build-up to the 2023 Presidential election is gradually taking an upswing direction.

Political gladiators have launched their strategies and hope to stay on top of the game for the race towards Aso Rock.

The APC has rolled out its league features by inaugurating a caretaker committee that would see to the registration of new members and as well conduct a congress that would elect the substantive executives for the 36 State chapters of the party.

Herein lies the battleground ahead of the Final games to be played in 2023.

Take note that team Tinubu is a 12 man team(The 12th man in football is a term of endearment for a team’s supporters. Each team is made up of 11 players so when supporters are so loud enough to influence the game, they are said to be the 12th player)

Having said that Tinubu has an array of formations to be deployed mainly by supporters-cum volunteers.

Tinubu’s formation would be a likely combination of Tiki-Taka and Total Football, using a mad 4-1-4-1 formation consisting of four defenders.

At every major tournament teams hope to avoid being drawn in a ‘Group of Death’.

Here is Tinubu’s first eleven set to mingle their way through this deadly round.

The first battle is to get hold of the South-West slot for the Jagaban.

1: Professor Osinbajo.

The Vice-president Federal Republic of Nigeria and by the Constitution the second most powerful man in Nigeria.

He would be playing a very prominent role if “Behind Closed Doors Games” would be entertained, he would be the one to fill in the gap with President Buhari his immediate boss.

He would act as a neutralizer to the officials that would intend to perform any HAND OF GOD goal behind the scene. Only Osinbajo has access to the (VAR) and can review any perceived foul play with Buhari.

Osinbanjo comes in …does the work with Baba, that is what he is there for no long thing.

He would play the role of a defensive midfielder, with Jersey number 5.

2 Chief Olusegun Osoba.

Former Governor of Ogun State and a political war veteran. He would lead the core Yoruba leaders in securing the South-West ticket for Tinubu. He would make sure the MATCH cannot be FIXED and would prune out any ‘false nine’ player involved in Tinubu’s team from the South-West.

Olusegun Osoba would be wearing number 2 Jersey playing the role of right full-back.

3 Chief Bisi Akande.

Former Governor of Osun State, a professional Worldie that is acclaimed of scoring goals regularly. He would unite all the South-West leaders together irrespective of their political inclination. Well respected and seen as the unofficial voice of the Yoruba’s. Chief Bisi Akande would be playing the role of Left full back (left side centre back) with the number 3 jersey.

He is expected to score a hat rick even from the defence, watch out for him.

4 Chief Niyi Adebayo Junior.

He served as the first Executive Governor of Ekiti State from May 29, 1999, to May 29, 2003, and represented the Alliance for Democracy, a strong ally of Tinubu. Cool, calm and calculated, Niyi Adebayo would galvanize the old and younger elite in the South-West for Tinubu. A Class act in all ramifications.

Niyi would be playing right halfback (right side defensive midfield) with the number 4 jersey.

5 Ogbeni Aregbesola.

The CR7 of Yoruba politics. He scores goals effortlessly and ruthless in play.

Remember the “Bicycle kick “goal he scored for ACN when Nuhu Ribadu was the presidential flag bearer of the party in 2011?

It was the only State the ACN candidate won. He scored a major goal for the former EFCC chair.

Ogbeni is a ‘fox in the box’, his movement within the 18-yard box is clever enough to elude markers he is sure to net in as many goals as possible “behind the net.”

Ogbeni would play the role of Inside right (attacking midfield) and possibly put on jersey number 8.

Ignore him at your peril.

6 Babatunde Fashola.

Minister of Works and Housing, former Lagos State Governor, a sound technocrat and the Jack Bauer of our time, he’s known for good “Banana Cross” during matches. His precision in making long-distance passes are so unique and always a game-changer.

He would tie-up-looseends in the midfield. He would play the role of Left halfback (left side defensive midfield). Jersey number six is reserved for Fashola.

7 Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Lagos State Governor would lead ground forces in full support of Tinubu. His policies in Lagos State would shape a lot of things in the battle ahead.

When the time comes he would play the role of chief host. He is expected to put up a fantastic performance. Fashola would play the role of centre forward with Jersey number 9.

He is expected to score some away goals to be used as an advantage in later stages.

8 Musiliu Obanikoro

A former Senator, Minister of Defence and Ambassador. His son is presently a lawmaker at the Lagos State House of Assembly. He would play the role of distributing passes at the midfield.

A “Big game player” Obanikoro can hardly be “Caught sleeping”.

He would be playing the role of the inside left (attacking midfield) with jersey number 10.

9 Akeredolu

Aketi, Ondo State Governor is surprisingly in the game, he would play a prominent role in Team Tinubu.

As for Ondo State Governor, he would be among the voices to endorse the candidature of Asiwaju Tinubu.

Jersey number seven, Inside left (attacking midfield).

10 Adegboyega Oyetola

He is the governor of Osun State. He would play a key role in the formation of team Tinubu. As a serving Governor, he would mobilize his people towards Tinubu’s aspiration.

He would be putting on jersey number 8 while playing the role of the outside left (left winger).

11 Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The FORTRESS himself. A combination of Zidane, Ronaldo, Messi, Maradona, Pele all combined, Asiwaju remains the GOALKEEPER.

Asiwaju would be putting on jersey number one.

Devoid of any OWN GOAL, Tinubu is expected to come out with a clean sheet,

When a team boasts of a strong home form, their stadium is a ‘fortress’. Tinubu has a fortress of home-based players to Kill the game.

So stay tuned as we bring you all the wicked highlights as the countdown to the 2023 presidential elections official begins.

Who takes the crown?
