Jigawa to build specialist hospital in each senatorial district

Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Jigawa State has promised to establish a specialist hospital in each of the three senatorial zones of the state.

He made the pledge yesterday in Dutse while flagging off the Sakwaya Basic Health Care Provision Fund.

According to him, so far six Primary Health Centres (PHCs) have been upgraded to general hospitals, while three new general hospitals were constructed in Gantsa, Guri, and Garki to be commissioned soon.

The role of human resources in healthcare cannot be over-emphasized, the governor said, stressing that a new school of nursing and midwifery was established in Hadejia to address the human resource challenges.

He assured them that the N545,715,578.97 will be prudently managed to give the 287 political wards in the state health facilities.
