I will win 2023 election if – Gov. Yahaya Bello, Says no zoning in APC

“If there is a level playing field in the All Progressive Congress (APC), I will win the presidential primary election and will go on and win the general election because I represent the youth, the needy, and the less privileged “ governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has revealed.
He also stated that he was not aware of any zoning arrangement in the APC.
He said this at the weekend during an interaction with newsmen and quickly explaining that he was not driven by any personal ambition but merely hearkening to the calls of these categories of Nigerians.
He, however, expressed reservations about the current state of affairs saying that those who hold Nigerian prostate were afraid of the prospects of his presidential candidature because they know his capacity as a unifier and will, therefore, stop at nothing to keep the country down.
‘“I will defeat any candidate of any party in the general election but those who keep the country down are afraid because they know I know them very well. The majority of them are self-serving, that is why they are always stoking the ambers of disunity. They know if the youth takeover, that’s the end of their machinations” he said.
Bello hastens to add that he was not desperate to be president but will hearken to the calls of teeming youth associations and groups at the appropriate time.
“In the fullness of time, I will not turn down the request of youth groups, the less privileged,d and the needy to lead the country.
Speaking on the controversy on the rotational presidency in the party, he said he was not aware of the arrangement and wondered if the purpose of democracy has been served by restricting the office to a particular region.
“To what extent has zoning helped the country? I think limiting the office may not offer the best person to vie for it.
“Nigeria is ill and the youth represent the hope of fixing tithe younger generation has the antidote to save the country.
He, however, stated that his 2023 plans were in divine hands, as he didn’t set out to even be governor of Kogi state.
“How I became governor is by divine intervention. You all know the history, therefore, if divinity intervened, my being president is settled. However, I am content where I am” he assured.
He described Kogi as a very complex state more problematic than the nation but that has not daunted him from running an all-inclusive government.
