The attention of the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi has been drawn to a publication by some prints and online media claiming that Governor Yahaya Bello has okayed Senator Adeyemi as his successor.
Senator Adeyemi this evening debunked the content of the publication in its entirety, describing such concoctions as untrue, devilish, ungodly, ill-conceived with deliberate destructive intentions.
In his words, the Senator said, “for anyone to be concocting such a 2023/24 agenda in the year 2020 is an indication of the denial that only God gives life and determine who sees tomorrow, talk more of three or four years ahead”.
Further, the Senator described the publications as a deliberate attempt, probably sponsored, to cause confusion, mistrust, and suspicions within the APC of Kogi State and the political structure of our leader, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello. It is obviously too early to instigate discussions on 2023/24 governorship, the issue of who succeeds our leader is not on the table at all, the Kogi State APC, the Kogi State Government, and the general public should therefore disregard the publication in its entirety, considering it as a figment of the publishers and their sponsors’ imagination”.
DSSA also noted with emphasis that his concern is how to team up with our governor towards delivering socio-economic development, improved standard of living, infrastructural turnaround, a fair, equitable, and egalitarian society to the people of Kogi State.
Finally, the Senator again emphasized his unalloyed, undiluted, total, and non-negotiable loyalty and commitment to the leadership of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, and his resolve to stand by, and defend whatever decision the governor will take regarding his successor when the time comes.
Signed:
Chief Olowo Cornelius,
Legislative Aide to Distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi,
