Former Military Administrator of Lagos state, Buba shines again

When he was not in circulation for some time, people felt he was no longer relevant in the scheme of things; but if you have good achievements trailing you, the good deeds will smoke you out. Since the announcement of his appointment as director general of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), many have believed that the former military administrator of Lagos State, Buba Marwa has begun 2021 on a very impressive note which further signifies that his dwindling political career has finally been revived. Since he assumed office, he has virtually turned around the anti-drug agency and the body is now regaining its old glory.

This highly polished, intellectually deep and a pan-Nigerian, Marwa was once military attaché, Nigerian Embassy, Washington DC, USA, and defence attaché, United Nations, New York, as well as former ambassador to South Africa and the Kingdoms of Lesotho and Swaziland.

When the Adamawa-born retired soldier left office as Nigeria High Commissioner to South Africa, he founded Albarka Airlines. He resigned as the chairman of the airline in 2005 to pursue his political career, which he had unsuccessfully sought the number one job of Adamawa State in 2011, with the intention to unseat the then incumbent Governor of the state, Murtala Nyako.
