The Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU, on Wednesday suspended its strike, bringing an end to a protracted industrial action that started in March 2020.
The union however said the reopening of the schools now lies with the Federal Government and Senate, considering the COVID-19 pandemic.

Biodun Ogunyemi, the ASUU National President, announced this during a briefing of the union in Abuja.
He warned that the union would return to strike without notice if the government fails in meeting its part of the agreement reached with the university lecturers.
