APC Berates Adolph Wabara Over Comments On Dave Umahi’s Defection

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress Ebonyi state chapter has berated the former Senate President Adolphus Wabara over his comments about the defection of Gov. Dave Umahi to the APC.

Speaking to newsmen on Sunday in Abakiliki, the Ebonyi State APC Caretaker Committee Chairman Hon. Stanley Okoro Emegha said that “his comments show how far removed the septuagenarian has become with contemporary realities”.

“It is unfortunate that when productive politicians are speaking, expired and political stillbirths like Wabara will also want to speak. Can one juxtapose Senator Wabara with the likes of Ken Nnamani, or any of his contemporaries in the senate? It is unfortunate that his political stagnancy does not worry about him”.

“So long as we are concerned, Wabara’s comments are old age-induced. Coming from a man who lost all political relevance the moment he was rejected by his people at the polls, one wonders what political foresight Wabara can offer anyone when he could not salvage himself or even deliver an ordinary councilor in his ward since he fell out of favor with his people”.

“A man who is not honorable enough to write off the debts he incurred in his failed re-election bid has no moral justification to advise or speculate with the political future of a political colossus like Gov. Umahi”.

“One expects that Wabara would have concentrated on acquitting himself of the corruption Charges as Chairman Governing Council of Abia State University where he is accused of being an accomplice in the squandering of TETFUND funds accruing to the institution, then meddling into the political fortunes of an accomplished and fulfilled leader like Gov Umahi”.

“It is only in Nigeria and mostly southeast that elders who are politically and morally bankrupt will, instead retire quietly and save their people the pain of recounting their woeful outing, will also try to pull down the brightest lights currently illuminating the polity”.

Hon. Okoro Emegha further advised Senator Wabara to be more worried about clearing his debts to save his children the agony of inheriting a debt they may never be able to repay
