Alh. Shehu L. Wahab, Ph.D., the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Kogi State, delivered a press briefing on May 11, 2026. This engagement served as his first official interaction with the media following his redeployment from Nasarawa State to Kogi State on April 16, 2026.

The primary purpose of the briefing was to announce the start of Phase 3 of the CVR exercise which runs from Monday, May 11, 2026 to July 10, 2026.

The REC called upon the media and the public to prioritize registration, as a valid voter’s card is the foundation of voting power.

He finally emphasized that Registration is free and warned against multiple registrations, noting that the system will automatically invalidate such entries and offenders may be prosecuted.
