The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has denied plans to hold state and local government congresses, calling reports to the contrary false and misleading. The clarification came after a publication quoted National Chairman Senator David Mark as directing members to organize congresses for new elections. ADC leaders stated the report was unauthorized and should be ignored.

A joint statement by Kogi State Chairman Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga and Edo State ADC Chairman Hon. Kennedy Odion, both part of the ADC Chairmen’s Forum, revealed that Senator Mark disowned the publication, confirming it did not originate from his office or the National Working Committee (NWC). The ADC labeled the publication illegal and invalid, urging members and the public to disregard it. The statement also reaffirmed the loyalty of ADC state chairmen to the Senator David Mark–led NWC and their commitment to the party’s future success, including the 2027 elections.
