Lere Olayinka, media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has mocked former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye for saying he regrets supporting the All Progressives Congress, APC, to assume power.

Olayinka described Melaye as a former blind man and tree climber who refused to vote during a governorship election he contested in.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, chieftain said ”I regret supporting APC, I was blind then, now I can see.”

In 2015, the former Kogi West Senator defected to the APC but returned to the PDP in the build-up to 2019 elections after months of political struggle with former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello.

But, Melaye insisted that Nigeria is currently in a precarious situation under the APC-led government.

Responding, Olayinka posted on X: “Dino Melaye ”I regret supporting APC, I was blind then, now I can see”

“ME: Good morning this evening FORMER BLIND MAN Dino Melaye, the TREE CLIMBER.

“But was it the blindness that made you not to vote in your own governorship election? Abi how person go dey house dey do Social Media contents and not vote on the day of his own election?”
