The Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan, transformed into a major political center on Saturday as thousands of PDP members and supporters poured into the venue for the opening of the party’s two-day national convention.

By 8:00 a.m., the stadium was already alive with intense activity, with loyalists arriving in large numbers despite a Federal High Court ruling from Abuja on Thursday that ordered the event to be suspended. Security personnel were stationed both inside and around the stadium to maintain order and ensure the program ran smoothly.

Information from the ground indicated that delegates and supporters from the South-East, Northern region, and South-West had reached Ibadan ahead of time and secured hotel accommodations across the city. Their strong turnout reflects a firm determination to proceed with the convention’s goals regardless of the legal obstacles.
