The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of Acting National Chairman Umar Damagun, has expelled Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT; Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State; and eight other senior members for alleged anti-party activities.

Those expelled alongside Wike and Fayose include:
Senator Samuel Anyanwu (PDP National Secretary), Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Mohammed Abdulrahman, Mao Ohuabunwa, Austin Nwachukwu, George Turner, Abraham Amali, Bature, and Dan Orbi.

As part of the party’s sweeping disciplinary measures, the PDP also dissolved the executive committees in five states: Rivers, Abia, Imo, Plateau, and Enugu, marking a significant internal restructuring.

These actions were taken during the PDP Elective National Convention in Ibadan, where Chief Bode George, a member of the Board of Trustees, moved the motion for the expulsions. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State tabled the proposal to dissolve the state executives.

Both motions were grounded in Section 33, Subsection 2 of the PDP Constitution (2017) and were approved by the convention, representing one of the most dramatic decisions the party has made in recent years.
