The All Progressives Congress (APC) has addressed rumours suggesting that Rabiu Kwankwaso, leader of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), is planning to defect to the ruling party.

Speculation has been swirling about the former Kano State governor’s potential move, particularly following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as APC National Chairman.

However, speaking during an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka stated that there has been no discussion within the party regarding Kwankwaso’s possible defection.

“The party I represent has not said anything about Kwankwaso joining,” Morka clarified when asked about the rumours.

“We have not reached that determination and are not in a position to do so at this time,” he added.

Addressing claims of internal issues within the APC, Morka dismissed the speculations, insisting that the party remains stable and functional.

“The party is operating as it should. People are entitled to their opinions, but that does not suggest there is any dysfunction,” he said.
