Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on Friday night in Lagos, received award as Best Governor of the Year, 2021, from Daily Champion Newspaper.
Zulum was represented by his chief of staff, Professor Isa Marte Hussaini at the newspaper’s annual awards for 2021, held at Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island.
Accepting the award, Professor Marte conveyed Zulum’s deepest gratitude to management and staff of Daily Champion Newspaper for recognising what he described as his modest achievement that is still work in progress.
He assured the award will encourage the governor to do more for the good people of Borno State and for the benefit of humanity.
Aside Governor Zulum, other personalities including the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, Retired General Mohammed Buba Marwa were honoured for their exceptional services.
Marwa was honoured as the newspaper’s man of the year, 2021, for his wonderful efforts in Nigeria’s battle with drug traffickers.
Daily Champion is one of Nigeria’s prominent national dailies, established by Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu from the southeastern part of Nigeria.
