The about our party cannot be hidden...We are making phenomenal progress

We must not Gamble with the Destiny of APC – Publisher

Speaking with newsmen today in Abuja, Dr. Tom Ohikere, the Deputy National Chairman of the Coalition of APC Support Groups and former Kogi state Commissioner for Information said going by the unwritten agreement of the ruling party, the 2023 presidency should be zoned to the South.

“President Muhammadu Buhari and the Mai Mala Buni caretaker committee should remember that the destiny of the APC is a subject of concern to well-meaning members of the party as the party must be seen beyond 2023 and for that reason, critical decisions to be taken at the forthcoming NEC meeting already scheduled for Tuesday 8th December 2020 must be fair to all interest groups, and it must come with sincerity of purpose and commitment to our mission as stakeholders and leaders of the party”.

He urged President Buhari to do the right thing in the upcoming National Convention that will produce the party’s national leadership.

“The next chairman of the APC must be a Northerner. President Buhari cannot round up his presidency and not hand over to a Southerner. That is not the agreement,” Ohikere said.

As President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term will elapse in three years’ time, the politicking for the 2023 presidential election is already gathering momentum as politicians have intensified scheming for the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the general elections.

On the registration exercise by the party, he said the exercise must be seen as a routine work to formally identify new members, revalidate existing members, and its also an opportunity to formally remove all those disgruntled elements that have left the party because of their selfish interest, we cant continue to have their names in our register. so, the exercise is very important and must be well-monitored
