The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, joined other prominent Northern leaders and members of the Federal Executive Council from Northern Nigeria in Kaduna for the 2025 edition of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation Annual Symposium.
The two-day interactive forum, themed “Assessing Electoral Promises: Fostering Government-Citizen Engagement for National Unity,” is being held from July 29 to 30, 2025, and serves as a high-level platform for frank dialogue on governance delivery under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, particularly as it impacts Northern Nigeria.
The event convened top government officials, led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, His Excellency Sen. George Akume CON, to review progress across key national priorities, including Security, Governance and the Economy, Agriculture and Food Security, Infrastructure, and Human Capital Development. The event also seeks to chart a strategic path toward strengthening accountability, unity, and sustainable development beyond 2027.

Representing Kogi State at the gathering, Prince Audu is scheduled to speak during a plenary session on Day Two (July 30, 2025), where he will contribute to discussions on “Governance and the Economy.” He is expected to highlight the strides recorded in the steel sector under his leadership, particularly efforts in reviving the steel industry, increased investment, and how the sector has created jobs for Nigerian youths in the past two years.
Other notable attendees at the event include the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu alongside Federal Ministers from Northern Nigeria, Progressive Governors, Heads of Agencies, Service Chiefs, Paramilitary leaders and Special Advisers among others.
