A retired Major Olafimihan Akerejola (rtd) has disassociated himself from a malicious petition and publication against Major General Erema Akerejola over corruption, financial impropriety, and misconduct

The publication alleges that Major General Erema Akerejola’s family accuses him of looting soldiers’ budget to run private firms, buy million -dollar US property “.

In a press conference organised by Major Fimihan Akerejola (rtd), on Thursday in Lokoja said the recent publication should be disregarded, according to him, ” I, Major Olafimihan Akerejola (rtd), did not authored or write any petition to anti-graft agencies accusing Major General Erema Akerejola of any corruption, financial impropriety and misconduct, I am here saying it categorically that I had no hands whatsoever in the writing or submission of any such petition, I hereby distancing myself from the malicious publication”, he angrily said.

He further said he has received countless calls from within and outside Nigeria as a result of the false publication, adding that those who knows him, knew that by his military training, he is not the type of person who fights battles like a coward, saying whatever he do, he will definitely own up to it, saying the false allegations has really caused an embarrassment to his image.

In his words, ” I, Major Fimihan Akerejola hereby dissociates myself entirely from the contents of the publication and urge the Nigerian Army, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Media platforms and the general public to disregard the story in its entirety, as it relates to me”.

He pointed out that he has written to the media platform that wrongly alleged him to quickly retract the malicious and false publication or else take a legal action against him and the organisation, noting that the media platform did not reach out to him before rushing to the press, which he said was an indication that he might have been sponsored to do an hatchet job.

After his retirement from military circle, Major Fimihan Akerejola served as caretaker chairman (Liaison Officer) Of his Local government area, Ogori-Magongo, later became a substantive council Chairman and occupied a position of Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Kogi State. He vehemently said the claims linking him to such falsehood are completely unfounded and misleading.

The Ogori born retired major said he is veiry available for any invitation by the anti-graft agencies to discontenance the false allegations against Major General Erema Akerejola, according to him, ” This will correct the record and protect my name from further misrepresentation, saying he is very ready to get to the truth of the matter, I won’t sit back and watch anyone or organisation bring my hard-earned name and reputation put to disrepute”, he said.
