Kogi State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed former Chairman of Kogi State Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Hon Suleiman Ndalayi Abdullahi as the Chairman the State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.
Rt Hon Kolawole, who is to represent Kogi West Senatorial District in the Commission was given a special recognition as a former Principal Officer.
The Chairman, Hon Suleiman Ndalayi, was particularly tasked to explain how the commission intended to address the problems confronting Oil Producing Areas of the State.
He used the occasion to stress the fact that all the nominees were experienced hands in various areas of endeavor and appealed to the members to grant them the opportunity to prove their mettle and make the state proud.
The newly confirmed Managing Director, Omonu Jackson James also made some clarifications about the issue, and assured them that they would do their best to justify their nomination.
Apart from the duo, the former Speaker used the opportunity to express gratitude to the lawmakers for the respect accorded him as a former Principal Officer, and assured them that he would not disappoint the state in the new assignment, when confirmed.
Engr Isah Yakubu Jatto was also confirmed as an Executive Director of the commission in charge of central senatorial district.
Earlier during Friday’s plenary, the Assembly had also confirmed the nomination of TP Salihu-Otaru Kehinde Augustine as the Director General, Kogi State Bureau of Lands.
His confirmation also followed rigorous screening by the Assembly, where he answered questions on how he would revolutionize the land sector.
