Governor Ganduje Appoints Kwankwaso’s Father In Top Position

Musa Saleh-Kwankwaso, the father of the former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has been appointed as a kingmaker of the Karaye Emirate Council.

The appointment was announced in a statement on Thursday, November 26, by Haruna Gunduwawa, the spokesperson for the Karaye Emirate Council.

Gunduwawa said Saleh-Kwankwaso who held the traditional title of ‘Makaman Karaye’, will be officially turbaned as a kingmaker among the other four appointees on Friday, November 27.

The Karaye Emirate is one of the four Emirates created by the Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje when he signed into law a bill for their on December 5, 2019.

The law establishing the new emirates also made provisions for first-class emirs in Gaya, Rano, Karaye, and Bichi, with the state now having five emirates, including the Kano Emirate.

The creation of the new emirates had culminated in the dethronement of the former emir, Muhammadu Sanusi, who was accused of not backing the creation of the emirates.

The immediate past governor of the state, Kwankwaso, as opposed to the creation of the four new emirates.
