The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Wednesday officially inaugurated the newly constituted Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Barely a week after resigning as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, was sworn in as the Chairman of the FAAN Board.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Abuja, brought together key stakeholders in the aviation sector.
The board comprises eight members, drawn from the Ministry of Aviation, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Defence, and also includes the Managing Director/CEO of FAAN.
Ganduje was in January 2025 appointed by President Tinubu as the chairman of the Board of the FAAN.
Ali Bukar Dalori, the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had emerged as the party’s new Acting National Chairman following the resignation of Ganduje about a week ago.
SaharaReporters had reported that Ganduje resigned from his position with immediate effect, with the former Governor of Kano State, attributing his resignation to health concerns, saying he needed to focus on his well-being, according to his resignation letter.
Ganduje was elected as APC National Chairman in August 2023, during a period of internal crisis within the ruling party.
His resignation took immediate effect, according to a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
In his resignation letter addressed to the National Working Committee (NWC) through the National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, Ganduje thanked Tinubu for the opportunity to lead the party.
