Festus Keyamo Reacts After Wike Said Buhari Approved Payment Of Money Niger Delta States Were Owed

The Nigerian minister of state for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has reacted to a statement credited to the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

It would be recalled that while speaking at a recent event, governor Nyesom Wike said that money which have not been paid to Niger Delta states since 1999 were approved by Buhari and paid to them.

“So many people ask me, where is he getting this money from, I want the Attorney General to thank the president, money that was not paid to Niger Delta since 1999, the 13% deductions, Mr President approved and paid all of us from Niger Delta states” Wike said

Reacting to Wike’s latest disclosure, Festus Keyamo lauded the current APC administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Gov. Wike confesses that what PDP past Presidents did not do for the Niger-Delta States, President Buhari did it, that is, clear the backlog of 13 percent derivative funds accruing to States in the region. We have consistently said the APC performed magic’ with meagre resources” he wrote.
