The All Progressives Congress, APC in Ede North and South local government Areas of Osun state held a special interdenominational prayer in honor of Governor Gboyega Oyetola and Ambassador Adejare Bello who has been appointed as a noncareer ambassador to Mexico by President Muhammad Buhari.
The prayer program which was organized and sponsored by the legacy and unity forum of Ede APC which was held at Ambassador Adejare’s resident in Ede witnessed the presence of clerics and party members within Ede’s land.
At the program, special prayers were offered for Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s success in office and his victory in the next election coming up next year.
All speakers at the event including an ex-lawmaker at the state assembly, Hon. Debo Akanbi and Baba Kekere of Ede who represented His Majesty, the Kabiyesi of Ede land, Oba Munirdeen Adesola Lawal, Timi of Ede land, eulogized the administration of governor Oyetola as the masses-friendly government who has gone extra miles in putting smiles on the people’s faces even without taking a single loan. He was commended for taking great steps in developing the state and making policies that are masses friendly.
They expressed their appreciations to the governor for considering the rehabilitation of the Ede township roads despite the fact that they did not vote massively for him in the last governorship election but promised to campaign, canvass and vote en mass for his reelection in 2022 to show appreciation for his love for the people of Ede land.
They also pleaded with the Ambassador not to leave them to their fate or abandon them as he takes up the new assignment so they don’t become political orphans.
In his response, Ambassador Bello appreciated God for counting him worthy and keeping him alive to witness this blessing. He also appreciated the National leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for considering him for the assignment, Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his love and support at all times. He further thanked all party leaders at the national, state, and local level including Prince Gboyega Famodun the state chairman of the party.
He, therefore, implored all the lovers and supporters of the party in Osun and particularly in Ede land to do everything within their powers to promote peace, love, and unity in the party as that is the wing the party will ride to success and victory in the next election.
He allayed the fears of his supporters and loyalists that he will not abandon them and the party at large as he will always play his part for the success of the party in Ede and Osun in general. He said, “ I will use everything God has blessed me with for the growth and development of the party, Ede land, and the state”.
Lifting up his eyes to the sky, Adejare prayed that may Almighty Allah bless Governor Gboyega Oyetola with good health to continue to paddle the ship of Osun to greater heights. He described Oyetola as a great silent achiever who had achieved a lot and will still achieve more in his second term.
Present at the prayer event is the party leaders within Ede North and south including Hon. Debo Akanbi, a former lawmaker who represented Ede North in the last assembly, a renowned professor of history, prof. Siyan Oyeweso, the Timi of Edeland who was represented by the baba Kekere of Ede, Dr. Tiamiyu Bello, the former Executive Secretary of Ede North, and many more who added glamour to the event.
