Charly Boy, popularly known as the Area Father, has responded to a recent video in which actor Yul Edochie stated that the South East should produce Nigeria’s next President.

Edochie’s position marks a shift from his previous support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who is widely regarded as the leading presidential hopeful ahead of the 2027 elections, has declared his intention to contest again. In the last general election, Obi finished third behind Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a video that has gone viral on X, Edochie said, “The next President of Nigeria should come from the South East. In fairness and equity. That’s just the truth. That’s how it is supposed to be.”

Reacting on X, Charly Boy wrote:
“Yul Edochie don finally see light.
Thank God you don dey change lane.”
