A Sociopolitical group, the Good People Of Nigeria, on Monday bought the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, H.E Timipre Sylva.
The group which presented H.E Sylva the forms with thousands of their supporters at the gates of the NNPC towers, Abuja, stated reasons why millions of Nigerians had chosen the Minister and pleaded for an affirmative answer for the interest of the country.
The spokesman of the group, Mohammed Abaji Abu spoke of the Minister’s sterling performance at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources and highlighted the historic passage of the Petroleum Industry Act.
‘The Good People of Nigeria chose Sylva for his record of excellence, sincerity of purpose, work ethics and love for nation’
‘We waited a while for the Honourable Minister to pick the expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Presidency of our country on the platform of the APC’
‘But after waiting for a while we did not see him amongst the lot so we decided to come together and obtain the expression of Interest and Nomination forms For the office of the President the Federal Republic of Nigeria for Chief Sylva, the best man to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari’
According to the group, it is optimistic a Sylva Presidency will spur Nigeria to all-round growth and stability.
In his response, H.E Sylva thanked the Good People of Nigeria for their gesture and promised a reply after proper consultations.
‘I am touched by this act, it tells that my humble efforts towards project Nigeria are being regarded and appreciated. You have all braved the weather and sacrificed your resources and time to invest in a dream you believe, this is an act of patriotism and I thank you all for this, I will consult and get back to you all in due time.
The group pleaded for a quick and positive decision from the Honourable Minister and afterwards began songs of hope and solidarity.
So far more than twenty aspirants have picked the nomination and expression of interest form of the ruling party.
