Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has declared that the team is fully prepared for their showdown against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.
The nine-time champions have displayed their quality on both ends at the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Under the guidance of Justine Madugu, the Super Falcons have scored the most goals in the tournament (nine) while remaining the only team yet to concede. After a shaky group stage, they stamped their authority with a commanding 5-0 win over Zambia’s Copper Queens in the quarter-finals.
The team will now renew their rivalry with defending champions Banyana Banyana in what promises to be a highly anticipated clash.
Ajibade noted that the Super Falcons thrive in matches like this.
“These are the kind of games we live to play. Reaching the semifinals reflects the effort we put into every match. We strive to improve with each game,” she told CAFonline.
The match will take place at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, kicking off at 5 p.m. Nigerian time.
